Update : the kiwi is Robin Williams! Albatross!

The “Albatross!” scene from A Wish For Wings That Work is one of my all-time favorites, and I just discovered the full show is on YouTube (best not to question its legality).

So, if you haven’t seen a kiwi lamenting the loss of his wife, or a chicken who thinks he’s a Boeing 747, or especially if you have and want to see it again...

I’ll watch this at lunch today. Another absolutely gorgeous film, if you haven’t yet seen it, is the animated adaptation of Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince . It’s on Netflix

I honestly don’t remember how good the entire Bloom County special is, but the support group is simply brilliant. Every few years, for no obvious reason and only when alone, I’ll shout Albatross! and feel better about the world for a while.

I just found out the kiwi is Robin Williams, and the cross-dressing cockroach is Dustin Hoffman. And the dude who voices Megatron from the awful new movies is Santa Claus.

But mainly, Robin, can’t believe I’ve been hearing his voice in my head for so many  years without recognizing it.

The chicken is a regular on Simpsons  and Futurama, Tress MacNeille.
